Acryl-\/Plexiglas wird h\u00e4ufig als Ersatz f\u00fcr normales Glas verwendet. Es ist um die H\u00e4lfte leichter und widerstandsf\u00e4higer. Die Platten zeichnen sich durch eine hervorragende Lichtdurchl\u00e4ssigkeit, UV-Best\u00e4ndigkeit und einfache Verarbeitung aus. Acrylplatten unterscheiden sich je nach Herstellungsverfahren. Die Kennzeichnung XT steht f\u00fcr extrudierte Acrylplatten. Diese weisen im Vergleich zu gegossenen Platten geringere Dickentoleranzen auf, gleichzeitig aber auch h\u00f6here Spannungen in der Platte, was bei anspruchsvollerer Bearbeitung zu kleinen Rissen f\u00fchren kann. Die Kennzeichnung CN steht f\u00fcr gegossene Plexiglasplatten. Gegossenes Acrylglas ist chemikalien- und l\u00f6sungsmittelbest\u00e4ndiger, weniger kratzempfindlich, einfacher zu bearbeiten und widerstandsf\u00e4higer als extrudiertes Acrylglas. Antireflektierende oder blendfreie extrudierte<\/b> Plexiglasplatten sind einseitig mattiert und gew\u00e4hrleisten eine klare Sicht ohne Lichtreflexe.
\nDer direkte Kontakt zwischen der Platte und dem Objekt oder Bild sorgt f\u00fcr eine klare und saubere Sicht. Andernfalls ist das Bild selbst bei einem Abstand von nur 1 Millimeter verschwommen und unscharf.
