Acrylic\/Plexiglas is often used as a replacement for ordinary glass. It is half the weight and strength of glass. The panels are characterised by excellent light transmission, UV resistance and ease of processing. Acrylic panels vary according to the way they are manufactured. EX stands for extruded acrylic panels. These have lower tolerances in thickness compared to cast acrylic, but also higher stresses in the panel, which can cause small cracks in more demanding applications. CN stands for cast perspex.
