Product description

Acrylic/plexiglass is often used as a substitute for ordinary glass. It is half the weight and twice as strong. The sheets are characterised by excellent light transmission, UV resistance and easy processing. Acrylic sheets differ depending on the method of manufacture. The XT designation stands for extruded acrylic sheets. Compared to cast sheets, they have lower thickness tolerances but also higher stresses in the sheet, which can cause small cracks during more demanding processing. The CN designation stands for cast plexiglass sheets. Cast acrylic glass is more resistant to chemicals and solvents, less prone to scratches, easier to process and more durable than extruded acrylic glass. ESD or extruded antistatic acrylic sheets are used to prevent the build-up of static electricity. They are used in the manufacture of electrical, electronic, optical, medical and high-tech products and wherever uncontrolled electrostatic discharge can cause stress and damage or destroy electronic components.
